Gold Pineapple

Starting off December, Europe demand will remain above normal. As the demand for pineapple in Europe dwindles, so will the planned production of pineapple decrease in Costa Rica.

Between the Europe demand and then holiday closures, supply is expected to not meet all demand in December based on current production.

We are in the typically rainy season of Costa Rica and the farms are receiving “normal” amounts of rain. The fields are designed to handle this amount of rain. The good growers also have better nutrition in place for stronger pineapple to deal with the excess water that is expected.

At this time, no reason to sound alarm for US contract commitments, but we are on alert internally.
